Bespoke garden rooms, built for year-round use

A garden room is the easiest way to add usable space to your home without the cost and upheaval of an extension. Fully insulated and built to be used comfortably all year round, whether you need a quiet garden office, a studio, a home gym or simply more room to enjoy.

What is a garden room?

A garden room is a standalone, insulated building in your garden, designed for everyday use in any season. Unlike a basic summer house or shed, a proper garden room has insulated walls, floor and roof, double glazing and electrics, so it stays warm in winter and cool in summer. It gives you a genuine extra room — an office, gym, studio, snug or guest space — a few steps from the back door.

A room built around how you'll use it

  • Garden offices — a dedicated, distraction-free place to work from home, wired for power and broadband.
  • Garden studios & creative spaces — for artists, makers, music and hobbies.
  • Home gyms — a private space to train without leaving the house.
  • Garden bedrooms & guest rooms — extra sleeping space for family and visitors.
  • Snugs, bars & garden lounges — somewhere to relax and entertain.

Designed around you

Your garden room is made to order, so the layout and finish are yours to choose — electrics and lighting, a toilet, shower room or kitchenette, and your choice of cladding, doors, windows and internal finish to match your home and garden.

FAQs

Before you get in touch

Do you need planning permission for a garden room?

Most single-storey garden rooms fall under permitted development, but it depends on size, height and how close it sits to a boundary. We check this as part of your free site survey.

What size garden room can I have without planning permission?

Most gardens allow a single-storey building up to a set footprint and height under permitted development, but it depends on your plot and how much of the garden is already built on. We confirm your exact limits at the free site survey.

How much does a garden room cost?

From £10,000, depending on size, layout and finish. You'll get a precise quote after a free survey.

Can a garden room have a toilet or shower?

Yes — we can plumb in a toilet, shower room or kitchenette. If your room includes a toilet or sleeping space, there can be building regulations to consider, and we'll guide you through it.

Are your garden rooms insulated for winter?

Yes, fully insulated in the walls, floor and roof as standard, with double glazing, for genuine year-round use.

How long does it take to build?

A typical build runs: free consultation and quote, then design and sizing, then groundwork and base, then the handcrafted build and install, then electrics and finishing.

Is my building guaranteed?

Yes — our standard garden buildings come with a one-year structural guarantee. Insulated garden rooms, with aluminium windows, cedar cladding and a rubber roof, carry a different guarantee; we'll confirm exactly what applies to your build at quote stage.

What are your payment terms?

We ask for a 50% deposit when you place your order, with the balance due a week before delivery or collection.

What if there's no direct access into my garden?

With advance notice, we can manufacture panels in smaller sections to get them through a garage or tighter access points — this usually carries a small extra cost. We can't install through a house or over walls and garage roofs, but give us a call and we'll talk through what's possible.

Can I come and see a building in person?

Yes — a selection of our most popular buildings and gazebos is on display at our factory showroom, open six days a week (closed Sundays). Viewings are by appointment, so we can walk you through the options in person.
